Message from the Head of Department

Dear Prospective Students,

As the Department of Banking and Insurance (BSB), we aim to offer every student who aspires to a career in the financial sector a modern and comprehensive education. Alongside basic knowledge in banking and insurance, our department aims to equip our students with a rich curriculum comprising disciplines such as economics, law and information technology. These courses enable our students to deepen their sectoral knowledge and gain a comprehensive understanding of financial regulations, legislation and technological advances.

Our education includes practical applications alongside theoretical knowledge. Through internship opportunities and our CO-OP education model, our students have the chance to experience current business practices in the sector. With the CO-OP program, starting from the summer following the third year, students have the opportunity to gain 14 weeks of real work experience at companies and institutions.

Our university will develop close partnerships with leading firms in the banking and insurance sector, offering our students the opportunity to gain sectoral experience while continuing their education. In addition, through the seminars, conferences and career days we organize, we support our students in improving their professional knowledge and skills.

Our department aims to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for our students to play an active role in national and international financial markets. Through programs such as Erasmus and Farabi, our students will find opportunities to study abroad and gain a global perspective.

For our graduates, there are career opportunities at public and private financial institutions such as banks, insurance companies, investment firms and financial advisory companies, as well as at regulatory and supervisory boards and organizations of the public or private insurance industry. Positions are also opened in the operations of international financial institutions and multinational companies in Turkey. Our department has taken on the task of providing our students with the qualifications needed to take their first steps toward a successful career in the business world.

Our university’s modern campus, full of greenery, offers students a rich university life and environment not only in education but also in social and cultural activities. The various national and international conferences held every year offer students the opportunity to meet industry leaders and members and build networks, helping them advance their careers.
